Formed in 2008 in the studios of a music school, The New Royalty has evolved from a group that imitated the music of the past into a band that is creating the new music of the future. These five young musicians from Central Jersey combine powerful, catchy melodies with meaningful lyrics that address the joys of their generation as well as the difficulties to come. Finalists in the Overplay Songwriting contest, the song “When Poets Dream” was described as a “heady, juicy concoction of indie pop.”
On December 12th, Leader Records International released “When Poets Dream” by The New Royalty. The single, “Here I Go” has not only been heard on top 40 radio stations, it is in rotation on VH1, MTV, and Much Music throughout South America!
Their most recent performance at Bamboozle 2012, their second year as part of the famous festival, earned rave reviews from fans and promoters. In 2011, TNR performed as part of the Vans Warped Tour for the second year in a row. The band also was selected as a top 5 finalist in both the 2010 and 2011 Z100 Jingleball Hometown Hero competition. The New Royalty recently opened for Big Time Rush at Northern Star Arena, performing for 8,000 screaming fans.
